Wow! IT has been awhile since i blogged! I actually forgot all about it.. until today!

I ran across my link on my own FaceBook Page. Go Figure! Too busy to blog anymore but it might help me in accomplishing a few things.

But take a look at his handsome feller! This is my baby boy growing up on me! This picture was taken at Oak Island Beach in July of this year! The first time I have taken him to the beach since we lived in Hawaii. He started off as a wild child full of TOO much energy and NO focus and has grown into a young man...growing his word list daily. He has made so much growth over the last few years.. I love this little man. Now if Momma could take care of herself like she does her son. I've continued to work out by going to Zumba but just not feeling healthy lately. I will take one day at a time, hug my son as often as I can...appreciate each time I can tell him that I love him.

Hello 2012

Well it's been awhile since I logged onto my blog! I'm closing in on my 2nd year of teaching and

feeling pretty good about it. Cameron is now in a group home which was the hardest decision that I have ever had to make n my life! I'm hoping that I will be able to bring him home in a year or two. I miss my little man!

First Day at School!

Well the first day at my first job EVER as a teacher has came and gone! I think it went pretty well. Had several visitors coming in and out and overall I thought it was a good day. The first few days are always hectic and people running here and there trying to get stuff done and get information they need to do their jobs! Well I have 9 students and only 1 girl and man is she precious! Im going to just eat her up! I have to admit I am wore SLAP OUT! I still need to finish mowing the grass as soon as my little man goes to sleep... gee whiz I don't want to spend the weekend eating all of my free hours up mowing the grass cause I have to research some lesson plans for next week. Im tired just thinking about it! All I can say is that I will learn more and more each and everyday! Onward Clyde!

Yes ABOUT time!

I'm so excited because my new teacher orientation begins tomorrow and I get to sign all my paperwork, select my medical coverage and all that jazz! I can't wait to get this rolling, its been a LONG TIME COMING! Yeah and we get paid on the 25th of each month! Yes Yes Yes! I have posted a few pictures of my new classroom!

My Life

Well update one! Cam is having trouble with following directions and doing what he is told without throwing an all out fit! I mean destroying stuff. He tore up a room at the Arc of Highpoint and he tore up his playroom today. Any hooo! I hope he grows out of that mess, mamma won't be able to handle him much longer.. On the positive side, he is saying so many new words and learning new ones everyday. I have a job now and have been preparing the classroom for over 3 weeks now and it is almost ready except for a few last minute touches! I wanted to use the first week of work to nail down all of my students independent work and have everything prepared for at least one month of work.... Lesson plans and all that jazz... I can't believe it, I m a TEACHER!

I DID IT! My First Teaching Job!

Its nice to see your hard work pay off BIG! I received that much anticipated phonecall from the principal of the school I "really" wanted to work at. I can't believe it has actually happened and for some reason is waiting for the dime to drop... I will meet the principal this coming wednesday and I am excited to meet her. MY OWN CLASSROOM! YES YES YES! Hey Ms. Icenhour, what are we doing next? When do we get to go outside? Can I go to the bathroom? lol.. CAN"T WAIT! Looking forward to those simple yet meaningful questions....

Well here it is! My Masters Degree In Education/Special Education. I can't believe it but I finished and with a GPA of 3.95. Now I'm PROUD of that! People think getting your degree online is easy and not alot of work. Bolonga! It was ALOT OF WORK! You had to document all hours in the classroom and retrieve signatures. I completed so many papers I don't want to think about APA format and case studies..NOT MY FAVORITE! But it is ALL OVER and I am ready to move on to the next stage,,, Finding a job! Wish me luck!

The Master's Degree is COMPLETE!

I have completed all of my classes required for my Masters Degree in Special Education and am moving onto the job search portion. I am hoping that the job offers come sooner than later so I do not have to stress about it all summer long... I have completed my resume, cover letter and philosophy statement... Just waiting for the phonecall so I can print them out. Cameron gets to go to Camp Royall this year and Im trying to prepare for that week. I will be posting new pics of Cameron and me real soon. Its been a long time since I blogged and I missed it.

Update!

Well I am soooooooooooo close to finishing up my master's degree I am actually beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel! I am currently less than 3 weeks away from being done with college classes and my student teaching starts in about 4 weeks! I am excited to be getting this accomplished which is huge! I am tired of attending college and glad I am moving on to my next life adventure!

Cameron is doing fine and making progress with his sight words, vocabulary and overall communication with other people. Still need to work on how he handles his anger issues but other than that, he is doing great! I am also dating a terrific guy who makes me laugh almost everyday and he lives in Newbern, NC which is near the beach! We started talking in August and dating in December.... Looking forward to moving on to the next stage in my life!

Long Time No Hear!

Well ALOT has been going on in my life and months continue to pass on. I am almost finished with my Master's Degree in Special Education and I begin student teaching in March 2010. I am excited to get going and continue to learn how to reach children with special needs. I am so busy day to day I forget to put water in my dog's bowl, let alone get online and blog or log on to BFL. I miss my BFL family and will be back real soon. Working full time, attending college full time, and raising my beautiful son is ALOT to handle, but I am doing it. Still here and still truckin along. Tried a new workout today, the WAVE by the FIRM and it is awesome! Kicked my butt! lol but it feels good to get a workout in! take care everyone and see you ALL on the flipside!

Michael Jackson dies! :(-

I am so saddened by the death of Michael Jackson. I can remember as a teenager I use to get into arguments with my dad over my room and how he couldn't see what color the walls were anymore because I literally had every Michael Jackson poster there was hanging on my walls. I still have his "Beat It" tank top from when I was a teen and you know it is hanging on the side of a shelf in my bedroom. What a musical Icon and I am sure a lot of singers and musicians would not be where they are today without Michael paving the way. May he rest in peace.

I PASSED MY PRAXIS EXAM!

YES YES YES! One more test and I will be allowed to teach in the State of North Carolina next year! Talking about one heck of a pay raise! YES YES YES! I am excited and nervous! One down, two to go. Still waiting on the scores from the AEPA exam that I took in Alanta, Georgia. Why oh why do they put us through this much stuff just to teach.....

DEATH to my GEORGE FOREMAN GRILL!

Man oh Man! My grill has DIED! I am so broke from the holidays I can see straight and can't buy another one until end of February! I can't believe it.. I am preparing to start a NEW challenge and it BREAKS! OMG! NO WAY! :)-

I must ask for prayers for my grill! It has been a good one and definetly faithful!

Preparing for the Holidays

Well I am hoping that I have finally found someone to watch my son over the long holiday period! This will also be my only time for a "break" and if I can't find someone to help me, I am sure going to be suicidal even before I go back to work. She has met Cameron and is willing to work with him so I am hoping she doesn't back out on the first bad day he has. Lets cross our fingers and say a little prayer that she is patient with him!
